Differences in Performance Indicators
Low-temperature resistance: Type I remains crack-resistant at a minimum of -20°C, while Type II performs well down to -25°C with superior frost resistance.
Heat resistance: Type I resists flowing at 90°C, whereas Type II only starts to flow at 105°C and offers better high-temperature tolerance.
Tensile strength: Type I has a maximum tensile force of 500N, while Type II reaches 800N. It also boasts higher elongation and is less prone to fracture.
Application Scenarios
Conventional roof projects: Type I is adequate with cost advantages, ideal for non-severe cold regions.
Underground works & severely cold areas: Type II is recommended for its excellent durability and crack resistance, and it is often specified for underground projects by relevant codes.
Special positions: Opt for Type II or thicker specifications for critical waterproofing areas and green roofs.
Price & Cost Gap
Type II adopts more premium raw materials, and its price is generally 10% to 15% higher than Type I.
Selection Tips
Do not simply choose higher-grade products blindly. Select the proper type according to local temperature conditions and project requirements. Type II is preferred for severely cold areas in North China.
